Prosecco, Pints & Pics

Join the Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will host Prosecco, Pints & Pics on Tuesday, June 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in The Market Shops Gazebo Courtyard. Join us to sip prosecco, enjoy cold pints, and receive a professional headshot while networking with local industry pros! This event is going on in tandem with our June 27 Pop & Shop with Luke Langford & 331 South.

Cost to attend is free for FPRA members and $25 for prospective members. All guests are asked to REGISTER in advance.

Barks, Baubles & Brews

Mark your calendars for Barks, Baubles & Brews, benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge! Taking place on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the furry friend fundraiser will include all-day designer trunk shows atChapeau & ChocolatThe Dressing Room Boutique, Sirens at the Beach,Wren’s Village Boutique, with 20% of all sales going back to the local, no-kill shelter.

Additionally, Alaqua will be hosting pet adoptions on the lawn from 3-6 p.m. and food and brew tastings from 5-7 p.m.; coinciding with our regularly scheduled Pop & Shop Concert Series with Continuum. Charlie’s Donuts Available at The Market Shops

Beginning Monday, May 1, 2017 at 6:30 a.m. Charlie’s Donuts will be available for sale within Trent Moore’s Charlie Graingers. While the two merchants are unaffiliated, The Market Shops is pleased to have Charlie’s Donuts.

Owned and operated by Charlie Mingus, the 1920’s-style donuts are hand-rolled, dipped, and filled. The donuts weigh about three ounces, with up to five ounces for donuts with filling. Flavors include red velvet cake, blueberry cake, sour cream pound cake, and rainbow sprinkles. Donuts are available while supplies last. Additionally, coffee, milk and Florida Orange Juice will be served to accompany the donuts.

Three New Merchants and Tram Stop Announced

The Market Shops, located at the entrance to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, is proud to announce three new merchants have joined the recently renovated shopping center.
 
30A TV, located off The Market Shops Gazebo Courtyard between Affinity Boutique and Primp Salon, is a leading provider of hyperlocal TV programming, broadcasting on Mediacom and Comcast, Roku Web TV, FilmOn.com and at www.30a.tv. Owned and operated by Paul Vizard, 30A TV programming is a mix of original unscripted material such as the popular “3 Julias” cooking show, “Behind The Gold Star”, and real estate and community event coverage.

Chapeau & Chocolat, located in the space between Baytowne Jewelers and Charlie Graingers, is owned and operated by Jay and Angela Powell. The two developed the concept for the unique retail location after visiting a similar boutique in Las Vegas, Nevada. Chapeau & Chocolat carries men and women’s headwear and assorted chocolates. This luxury boutique and lounge showcases nine diverse labels of hats, including SPF options with the American Cancer Society seal of approval. Additionally, Chapeau & Chocolat has European style liquid center chocolates made from a 200-year-old process. Chocolates can also be filled with spirits, wines and fruit nectars. Located between DIG eatery and Primp Salon, Escapology encourages guests to solve challenging clues and puzzles to escape a locked room before time runs out. ESCAPOLOGY
In addition to adding three new merchants to their mix, The Market Shops is pleased to share that they are now a route stop for the Sandestin Golf and Beach Tram Service. The tram will service The Market Shops in a seasonal rotation, May 13 through September 8, 2017, picking up between Charlie Graingers and Wren’s Village Boutique. Tram hours are 8:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. The tram runs on a continuous loop, departing each stop every 30 minutes.

OneBlood Drive

The Market Shops, located at the entrance to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, will host a OneBlood Drive on Thursday, April 27, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The OneBlood Big Red Bus® will be parked in The Market Shops parking lot, adjacent to Highway 98.

OneBlood is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community asset responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood. Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Photo ID is required. All donors receive a wellness checkup of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron count, including a cholesterol screening, plus a surprise gift. One of three people will need blood in their lifetime.

Blood that is donated on April 27 will likely be transfused within two to three days. The turn-around is that fast, the need is constant. Many potential blood donors believe that they cannot donate blood due to medical or other reasons. If you are curious if you are a candidate for donation or to learn more about the importance of blood donation and how donors can target the power of their blood type visit oneblood.org.

Free Fitness on the Lawn

The Market Shops will host free, weekly fitness classes on the lawn. Beginning Monday, April 3, 2017, through Monday, July 31, 2017, Free Fitness on the Lawn will take place weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The classes are free to attend and open to individuals of all fitness levels. Classes include Pilates Stretch with Essential Oils by Susan Authement Dunnam, Pure Barre, Tabata Circuit with Scott Lassiter, Core Pilates with Lisa Turpin and Unique Flowing Fitness with Andi. No pre-registration is required, but guests are asked to bring their own mat.

YP at The Beach is excited to bring back our 3rd Annual Crawfish Boil benefiting the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance on Sunday, April 23rd from12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the Lawn at The Market Shops.

Upcoming Merchant Events

The Market Shops is pleased to announce three upcoming merchant events.

 

The Dressing Room Boutique will host Catwalk for a Cause, an event and contest benefiting Children in Crisis, Inc. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Twenty high school senior and junior girls, from Okaloosa and Walton County, are participating to win the prom dress of their dreams and walk the runway for a great cause. The participant who sells the most tickets prior to the event will be announced as the winner at the end of the fashion show and will win a custom prom dress of her choice. All proceeds will benefit local non-profit, Children in Crisis, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing homes to abused, neglected, and abandoned children in our community. Tickets are $10 and available at The Dressing Room Boutique or online.

Ben & Jerry’s fans around the world can mark April 4, 2017, on their calendar as the local scoop shop will celebrate Free Cone Day at The Market Shops from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fans are invited to The Market Shops, located at 9375 Emerald Coast Parkway, Miramar Beach, FL 32550, to join in on the company’s long-time tradition of thanking fans for their commitment and ongoing support. The event is open to the public, and guests will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Individual scoop cups and cones are complimentary during the allotted time. Additionally, guests who donate $1 will receive a second scoop as donations benefit The HER Foundation of Northwest Florida and Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, Bijoux Restaurant & Spirits will host a wine dinner showcasing Sterling Vineyards at 6:00 p.m. Featured wines include their 2014 Napa Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Napa Chardonnay, 2013 Napa Merlot and 2014 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Sterling’s single vineyard estates include vastly different terroirs producing wines of great distinction. In addition to the fabulous wines, guests will enjoy 5 courses prepared by Bijoux Executive Chef & Owner Jack McGuckin. Cost to attend is $65 per person, and reservations are highly recommended.
